SpiceJet becomes the first airline to start a destination on demand

New Delhi/Surat, January 12, 2012: SpiceJet Limited, India’s most preferred budget airline, today started the booking of tickets for its soon to be launching flights on Surat – Delhi and Surat – Mumbai routes. The airline has decided to start flight services on this route following many requests from its fans on Facebook. Surat is the first destination that will see launch of flight from SpiceJet on passengers demand.

SpiceJet Ltd has an official account on Facebook and is very popular among netizens. The airline currently has over 3,07,900 fans on Facebook.

“We have been getting many messages from our fans on our Facebook page to start flight services from Surat. We respect the feeling and attachment of our fans and their trust in SpiceJet. In order to fulfill the demands, we conducted the viability of launching flight on Surat-Delhi and Surat -Mumbai route and decided to start the operations,” SpiceJet Ltd Chief Executive Officer Neil Mills said.

Passengers flying to Mumbai and New Delhi from Surat can now book their tickets online from today. Commercial flights on this route would commence from February 1st, 2012, providing an affordable and timely connectivity to the people of this region. The airline would be operating Boeing 737 aircraft on this route.
