SpiceJet launches Cargo Operations from Kochi
December 1, 2009, New Delhi : SpiceJet, India’s most preferred low fare Airline has now expanded its cargo operations to include the city of Kochi. The first low fare airline to undertake domestic cargo operations, SpiceJet cargo operations span 14 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Pune.
Announcing the launch of cargo operations from Kochi, Samyukth Sridharan, Chief Commercial Officer said, “With the addition of Kochi to our existing network of domestic cargo operations, we will now be providing cargo services from 14 cities. We transport major commodities like garments, auto parts, pharma, flowers and shrimps and have carried more than 40,000 tons of cargo since May 2008.
We are confident that the addition of Kochi will further strengthen our operations. Currently, we carry an average of about 120 tons per day which we aim to increase to 150 tons per day in the near future.”
