SpiceJet honours Sushil Kumar
New Delhi, August 20, 2008: SpiceJet Limited honours Sushil Kumar, Freestyle wrestler for bringing home the second Olympic medal for India by according him the Flying for Life recognition. Winner of the Bronze medal in the Beijing Olympics in men’s freestyle wrestling 66 kg, Sushil Kumar can now travel free on SpiceJet’s domestic network all his life.
Announcing this Samyukth Sridharan, Chief Commercial Officer, SpiceJet Limited said, “We are delighted that Indians are making their mark in various disciplines at the ongoing Olympics. Sushil Kumar’s feat is a remarkable one – he is the second Indian wrestler to win the bronze medal after Kashabha Jadhav who won it in the 1952 Helsinki games. Abhinav Bindra, the Olympic Gold Medalist in Men’s 10m Air Rifle final in the ongoing Olympics, was the first and only other person, given the special honour of Flying for Life by SpiceJet.
