SpiceJet launches ‘Freedom to Fly’ for The Indian Armed Forces
New Delhi, August 12, 2008: As a special gesture honoring The Armed Forces, SpiceJet launches Freedom to Fly scheme from this August 15, 2008. Under this special scheme, each serving Armed Forces personnel enjoys a 100% discount on basic fare for unlimited tickets. They will need to only pay taxes and fees. This is the first time any private airline has joined hands with the Armed Forces.
Reinforcing the concept of “Flying for everyone”, this exclusive scheme symbolizes SpiceJet’s gratitude towards The Armed Forces that relentlessly protect our country.

We appreciate the intent of the Company and thank SpiceJet for facilitating the Armed Forces personnel to avail this concession. ”
As per the new scheme, tickets can be booked through either the SpiceJet reservation desk or at the SpiceJet airports or on the website (www.spicejet.com). To avail this offer, the passenger needs to provide a declaration letter issued by the commanding officer stating passenger’s details along with the identification card, issued by Defence authority, at the time of booking and check-in process. All other terms and conditions pertaining to charges for change and cancellation of tickets, baggage allowance etc. will remain same as that of other passengers.
The first ticket under the scheme was issued to The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal..
