SpiceJet Selects CyberSource Risk Management Solution

First low cost carrier in India to adopt system

New Delhi, India, 12 November, 2007: SpiceJet, one of India’s largest low-cost airlines, today announced that it has implemented Decision Manager, an automated risk management solution to help minimize online fraud. CyberSource Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of CyberSource Corporation, is providing SpiceJet with the solution.

SpiceJet require a scalable solution to address the increasing rate of fraud in the Indian travel and aviation sector. The implementation of Decision Manager will enable SpiceJet to automatically screen transactions for fraud, using the burden of manual intervention on the rapidly growing airline. Decision Manager was selected over competing solutions due to its proven flexibility and scalability, and CyberSource’s experience in the global marketplace.

Decision Manager assesses over 150 factors associated with each order and, based on rules SpiceJet defines, returns a score that determines whether the online order should be accepted, reviewed or rejected. The assessment takes place in real-time, minimizing the likelihood of a delay to the customer. The rules can be updated at any time by the airline through a simple interface, allowing SpiceJet to continually adapt its strategies as fraudsters change their tactics.
