Welcome to SpiceSoup!
I am delighted to introduce SpiceSoup, the official blog site of SpiceJet.
SpiceJet launched in May last year. This year has been a remarkable journey for all of us. Our reservation system opened for bookings on May 17, at 6:30 in the morning and, quite literally, the phone never stopped ringing. On that first day, SpiceJet set a unique world record of selling the largest number of tickets on the day of its launch.
The records have not ceased. In every month since our launch, SpiceJet has recorded the highest load factor of all airlines in India. At 99.6%, our flight completion record is the best in India. Our on time performance too, remains the best in the country. SpiceJet has also established the unique record of reaching the 1 million passenger mark in the fastest time of all airlines in India.
These records would not have been possible without your support. We rely on you, our customers, to give us advice, to point out our mistakes and to encourage us if you think we are doing something right.
Through SpiceSoup, we invite all of you to express your feelings about SpiceJet.
Ajay Singh,
Director,
SpiceJet Limited.

I’m Hardik from Vadodara. I personally know a whole lot of people, including myself, who have to travel to ahmedabad to take a spicejet flight to delhi and/or bangalore.
Currently Jet Airways operates 3 flights a day from Vadodara to Mumbai, 1 to delhi. Air Deccan operates 1 flight to mumbai and Indian operates 1 flight to Delhi.
All the flights that connect to Mumbai, enjoy good occupancy levels. Most of the passengers connect onwards to destinations in the south.
I would request spicejet to study the feasibility of atleast starting a thrice weekly frequency directly to a southern destination or via mumbai.
Regards,
Hardik

Hope this is not simply a pr exercise and that comments by passengers/wellwishers will be taken seriously…having said that, I have only good things to say about Spicejet at the moment:-) Took a Delhi-Chennai flight …left on time, arrived b4 time…the inflight staff were polite and more personable than, say, Air Deccan staff…possibly bcoz they were younger…of course the accommodation was more cramped than what I’ve been used to, but then, who cares for a 3 hour flight…more power to low cost carriers such as yours:-)

On 8-July-2006 we landed in New Delhi with SpiceJet.
Boarded flight #2120 (Seats #28E & F) at sharp 1050hrs that morning from Bangalore and touched the New Delhi grounds exactly at 1325hrs.
We just could not wait sharing this joyful, thrilling experience with you. (THIS MAIL WAS DRAFTED JUST FEW HOURS AFTER OUR ARRIVAL IN DELHI BUT NETWORK SERVER PROBLEM RESTRICTED US FROM SENDING YOU THIS MAIL)
The SpiceJet cabin crew were enthusiastically friendly.
We witnessed such heart touching gestures which any other airline can only imagine to express. Before even having raised the finger to hit the steward call upon button, the ever smiling hostess would appear before you.
Adding upon that extra care which is class apart. Highly commendible was this journey of ours.. as me, my wife and our two year old were overjoyed to board this boeing. A personal welcome was given to us by our captain and the head air hostess, the moment we entered the aircraft. They even noticed our keen glance, looking towards the cockpit through the door trying to catch a sight or two. They even offered us to show the place from inside at the end of flight.. which later we were delighted to visit.
All the hostesses kept coming over to us to check upon our infant child, as she was getting extremely impatient, cranky and restless. Later we realised it was due to the ear pain she was experiencing because of cabin pressure. Rest is all tacit..
All this was not meant to be an official but friendly email. As much as you all are.
A letter from SpiceJetter to SpiceJetteers
Thank you so much for such wonderful memories you provided in this short while.
Your stupendous efforts are remarkably acknowledged.
Wishing you endeavors.
God bless.
Fly and make others fly high.

Updation about the discount fare schemes is not beeing comunicated in to regular customers in time, this part require some improvement.

Hello ,
I trevelled to A’bad for rs. 2200 some time back ,I was thinking to share the following thought,
I kept telling my friends in days of “high Air fares ” , that Govt should start a ring route flight from New Delhi to mumbai to bangalore to chennai to calcutta on 24 hrs basis ,with every hr there a flight from each of these town , ” using IL76 “Gajraj”" , where the door opens from back side ( Flap & we have to climb , & last but not least Rs. 500 per trip ” Kahin bhi Utar Jao ”
NO AIR HOSTESS ,HELP YOUR SELF SERVICE ( lIKE SOLDIERS TREVEL IN IL76 )
TIME HAS COME Spice Jet SHOULD START SUCH SERVICES.

Please introduce more flights in Calcutta Bangalore sector. This sector is always full of techies, and cost of the flight is always 4.5 + in all. If you can introduce a little less fare with additional flights, it will be superb. Also you can introduce a package plan of 12 tickets etc

Hi, I’m writing this comment just a few hours after i landed i bangalore. I choose spicejet from mumbai to bangalore and this was my first time with them. It was a real great experience as the flight was great and well maintained and the crew was awesome. This was my first flight from mumbai as i usually travel from delhi and the only thing that was lacking in SpiceJets services were the ground crew at the mumbai airport. I did not know what to do and where to get in from the counters and there was not even one spicejet crew in sight after the security check. That was really great for a person who has come to the airport for the first time and i managed somehow to get to the spicejet counter inside and guess what there was no one in sight untill 20 minutes before the flight dep. I guess spicejet can take this feedback and get someone to be there at all times as older people find it difficult to find their way around, unlike we young people. Overall the service was great and a real value for money. The flight was better than an IA flight which has so much of cabin noise in all of its flights.
Thanks Spicejet….Hope to fly again soon…..:)

Dear Sir,
I am a PhD student of University of Tartu Estonia. I bookeed my ticket from Delhi to Varanasi on 21st August through their website (They have mentioned that the delhi-varanasi flight will start in October 2006). That time when I booked my ticket the prise was 2574 INR. Yesterday during browsing their webpage I saw that they are showing a total REGULAR prise 1774 INR of the same destination http://book.spicejet.com/skylights/cgi-bin/skylights.cgi. As it has mentioned in their rules and regulations that the prise are dynamic and change according to:
1. Seat availability
2. Peak and lean seasons
3. Promotional schemes
4. Group bookings -beyond 20 people or more
Unfortunately, none of them has explanation of my query.
But in this case it has mentioned that the new prise is regular i.e. this is not a promotional scheme!!! When I wrote to customer care I got this reply that is completely vague.

The terms and conditions say spicejet offers light snacks and water on all sectors but it is not true for the reasons known only to them. Earlier days they atleast served couple of cookies in the Bangalore-Chennai sector and now it is stopped.
I do not want to understand that it is short sector hence the flying time is not sufficient to offer even the snacks. If so how are other airlines managing.
I do not mind paying litlle extra but look at the situation i.e every Friday evening I go back to Chennai and catch the 5:00 pm flight from Bangalore. Being a senior executive I always reach airport in the last minutes and it is very tiring in the evening. Light snacks inside the flight will really help in that situation.
I only hope spicejet understands this.

The recently started Hyd to Jaipur flights seems to be a good connectivity for the passengers bound to travel for rajasthan. But I would like to suggest Spice Jet to extend this facility to Bangalore as there are very few flights to Jaipur from Bangalore. If this service is extended then it will have a good connectivity for these two cities and moreover flights to or from bangalore are always full which proves to be a good business deal for Spice Jet too..

GREAT CABIN CREW!!!
I was travelling on Spice Jet Flight SG- 217 on the 21/02/07 from Delhi to Pune.
seat no:3 A
I was extremely impressed by the way the cabin crew conducted themselves and performed their duties, every thing was so systematic, I feel being a cabin crew myself working for British Airways i felt there was so much i could learn from the young crew on board.
I immediately recognized the Senior Flight Attendant on borad he was extremely well groomed his Name was” Agastya Thakur”, the way he managed the crew and conducted the flight from the time of welcoming us on borad till the time doors of the aircraft were closed had CLASS AND STYLE in it.
The welcome announcement made by him was so warm and had crystal clear pronounciations of words that for a moment i could not take my eyes of from him thinking was he really making a announcement or was it pre recorded??.
Once we took off and the seat belt signs were switched off he went in the cockpit for a while, one thing that i specially noticed was that before entering the cockpit he dimmed the lights of the galley area and the overhead lights of the fwd door area and kept
a food cart between the passenger cabin and the galley area and asked a female flight attendant to stand in front of the cartand hold the curtain across the cockpit door frame.
To other passengers it might feel it was a normal thing but as a cabin crew myself i feel as i have travelled on several other spicejet flights and never seen such a thing happened ,
however as per my knowledge being a crew i feel AGASTYA knows his job extremely well and as per international standards when a crew enters the cockpit he should maintain a STERILE OR CLEAR ZONE outside the cockpit by keeping the food cart and agastya did the same and suddenly a feeling of being in safe hands just became stronger,i sincerely appreciate his actions and this must be followed by other spicejet Senior stewards and stewardeses as well.
Although Spice Jet does not sell food on board but this was compensated for by the way our service was conducted we got cookies , water and candies on board to eat like any other spice flight i have taken before but i must say the way this time it was served by AGASTYA was fantastic instead of using the word “paper napkins” he said “serviaet” and it was a small thing but sounded so professional, even while serving other passengers he would tuck his one hand behind his back and a cokkie tray in one hand was simply class apart as i have seen other crew on B.A as well as they are supposed to do it but we all neglect it but agastya was very particualr about this must say a perfectionist.
Very importantly i could se him all smiles all the time and which i think was very impressive as well that makes the passengers so much more happier and wanting to come back to a airline and fly with them.( must say such great white teeth and a million dollar smile)
overall the announcements, the service, the track of procedures (as i noticed) was as par international standards!!!!!
hope i have AGASTYA AND SUCH CREW ON MY NEXT FLIGHT AS WELL, JUST FOR THE FACT THEY MAKE OUR LIFE SO MUCH MOR SIMPLER AND PEACEFULL IN SO VERY TOUGH SITUATIONS AT 41,000 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL.
Best of luck!! promise the next domestic flight i take will be Spice Jet only!!

I love the services, responsiveness, professionalism, and punctuality (barring few unbearable delays). Following are my comments: -

Hi
From last year I decided to travel through Spicejet. During last year of September -October I travelled from Hyderabad to Delhi and back.
This year too i have planned to go on pilgrimage tour Punjab. Already I booked four tickets and another four are going to be booked soon both to and fro form Hyderabad to Delhi.
A VALID SUGGESTION THAT I AM MAKING IS THAT SPICEJET SHOULD INTRODUCE DIRECT FLIGHT FROM HYDERABAD TO AMRITSAR THE HOLIEST PLACE FOR SIKHS OF THE WORLD OR FROM DELHI TO AMRITSAR.
THERE ARE FEW FLIGHTS THAT ARE OPERATING FROM DELHI TO AMRITSAR BUT AT FLYING AT ODD TIMES.
SPICEJET CAN USE THE OPPORTUNITY AND SEE THAT FLIGHTS FROM HYDERABAD OR DELHI TO AMRITSAR ARE INTRODUCED SO THAT PASSENGERS CAN FLY WITH GREAT SATISFACTION.

There is no direct flight between Pune and Bhubaneswar. I am looking for the same. Pune to kolkota via Bhubaneswar can be done. Please consider this option.
Thanks in Advance
Mona
