SpiceJet Remains Load Factor Leader in May

Overall load factor 92% * 63% flights between 90% to 100% load factor * 236 flights score 100% PLF

New Delhi, June 09, 2006: SpiceJet, the fastest growing low-frill airlines, remains undisputed load factor leader among all the domestic airlines, by achieving 92 percent passenger load factor in the month of May 2006. Last month, SpiceJet on certain days reported 100% load factor on its entire network.

In the month of May the airline flew total 1397 flights, of which 236 flights reported 100% load factor, which is a record in itself. Out of the total, more than 63% flights were those which reported 90 % to 100% load factor. The sectors which reported 100% load factor remain Delhi bound sectors like Delhi – Ahmedabad, Delhi – Goa, Delhi – Srinagar, Delhi – Hyderabad and Ahmedabad – Bangalore.

Commenting on achieving remarkable passenger load factor figure, SpiceJet CEO Mr. Siddhanta Sharma said, “India is at the threshold of a new wave of growth. We are seeing unprecedented growth in the aviation sector here. We are very confident that we will receive even better response in days to come. We will continue to fly our passengers safely, on time and at reasonable fares, qualities that have enabled SpiceJet to achieve the highest load factor among all airlines in India.”
