SpiceJet Trail Blazers beats TERI to lift the TERI Summer Cup 2006.

New Delhi, May 8, 2006: SpiceJet won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener Hardev played some elegant shots up the order and made 28 of just 21 balls.

SpiceJet were cruising along well and at the end of the 8th over, they were 66 for 2. Kapil and Ganesh once again had a crucial partnership of 56 runs for the 3rd wicket. After Ganesh’s departure, Jagpreet and Kapil took on the bowling and played some cracking shots all round the park. Jagpreet made 18 of just 13 balls, which includes the only six of SpiceJet innings. Kapil once again paced his innings wonderfully and made an unbeaten 85 of just 65 balls with 8 fours. SpiceJet made 190 for 4 wickets in their allotted 25 over. For TERI Dr. R. K. Pachauri took 2 for 29 runs.

TERI lost 2 quick wickets as Jagpreet bowled a wonderful opening spell. After the initial blow, TERI recove well and at one stage the match was drifted towards TERI, as there was a wonderful partnership between Mahesh and Mansoor. Mansoor was finally caught by Kapil of the bowling of Vinesh. He made 27. SpiceJet took off from there and landed just after the final wicket. Opener Mahesh made a fighting 54. TERI fell 27 runs short of the target.

Kapil Mehta remained the star of the show for the 5th consecutive time in the TERI Cup and was awarded the Man of the Match for his all round performance.
