SpiceJet announces operations to Jammu & Srinagar
Also extends support to earthquake victims in J&K
New Delhi, October 26, 2005: With the induction of two more B 737-800 aircraft and the start of operations to Kolkata on November 6, SpiceJet the growing low cost, no frills airline today proudly announced the launch of services to two new spice cities in its network, Jammu and Srinagar. With effect from November 10, 2005, Jammu & Srinagar will be linked to Delhi with non stop services six times a week. Additionally, local services will also be available between Jammu & Srinagar.
As an introductory offer, SpiceJet has introduced a Red Hot Special launch fare of Rs. 999 available for travel till the end of November 2005, subject to seat availability.
There are also Red Hot Special fares of Rs. 1299 on the Delhi – Srinagar route, Rs. 1199 on the Delhi – Jammu as well as on the Jammu – Srinagar route. These Red Hot Special fares will be available through the call center at 1600 180 3333/ 0 987 180 3333 or through SpiceJet’s website www.spicejet.com until November 30, 2005 with travel validity until 31 January, 2006.
All fares, including the regular fare, starting from Rs. 1599 on the Delhi – Srinagar route and Rs. 1499 on the Delhi – Jammu & the Jammu – Srinagar routes, shall be available for booking with effect from 7 pm onwards October 26, 2005.
Making this announcement, Mr. Siddhanta Sharma, Chairman SpiceJet said, “It’s a pleasure to commence operations to the beautiful valley of J&K. SpiceJet’s objective has always been to make air travel attractive and affordable and we are proud to add J&K to our spice network”.
SpiceJet also pledged its support on October 24, 2005 for the earthquake victims in J&K by deploying its aircraft for airlifting of relief material & supplies to the affected state.
Mr. Siddhanta Sharma, the Chairman of SpiceJet said “We are deeply concerned about our brethren devastated by the earthquake. We in conjunction with Indian Airlines deployed our aircraft to airlift supply of relief materials to the affected areas. We are also looking at the possibility of continuing our support once we start regular operations to Srinagar with effect from November 10, 2005.”
