SpiceJet lands in Bangalore

Flights to connect Ahmedabad and Pune

Bangalore, 2005: India’s premier low cost carrier, SpiceJet has launched its services on the Bangalore – Ahmedabad and Bangalore- Delhi via Ahmedabad routes from 13 June 2003 onwards. SpiceJet will be operating Boeing 737-800 aircraft in an efficient all economy 189 seat configuration and is the pioneer in connecting Bangalore with Ahmedabad and Pune. With the addition of Bangalore, SpiceJet now flies daily to 5 cities -Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Goa and Delhi. SpiceJet is also commencing its operations from Bangalore –Delhi via Pune and Bangalore-Pune shortly.

The Spicey Fares of SpiceJet for Bangalore- Delhi via Ahmedabad / Pune range between Rs. 2499 to Rs. 6999, whereas the Spicey fares for Bangalore- Pune range between Rs 999 to Rs 4399 and Bangalore –Ahmedabad range between Rs 1499 to Rs 6099. While the starting fare is barely Rs. 400 higher than AC III Tier fares, at the higher end of the pricing, SpiceJet fares are still almost 45% cheaper than regular airlines. On the very first day of opening its reservations, SpiceJet received an overwhelming market response. SpiceJet sold 37,348 tickets in a day which is the largest number of tickets ever sold by any airline in Asia on the first day of their booking with 15,518 seats on the Bangalore route alone.
